Laura Lee Taylor

MD

Dr. Taylor is truly a “homegrown” doctor having grown up just a few miles from our current location. She graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1996 and Auburn University in 2000. She attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine from 2001-2005 and completed her family medicine residency in 2009 at The University of Alabama School of Medicine Huntsville Family Medicine Program. She and her husband Jamie have two children, Jack and Addi as well as a zoo of cats, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, and chickens.

Matt Headley

CRNP

Matt graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2012 before pursuing a nursing career. He continued his education at MTSU receiving his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014. Matt has worked at both Williamson Medical Center and Huntsville Hospital as a registered nurse on the orthopedic floor and Neuro ICU before earning his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017. Matt precepted with Dr. Taylor throughout nurse practitioner school and joined the office upon graduation.

Sandy Chaviers

CRNP

Sandy grew up in Dutton, Alabama and relocated to Huntsville in 2000. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated with honors from Northeast Alabama Community College with an associate’s degree in Nursing in 1995. Sandy pursued and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with honors in 1997 and 2015 respectively. Sandy began her nursing career as a registered nurse caring for emergency room patients. However, the last 15 years she has worked for Huntsville Hospital in cardiac catheterization laboratory where she was the clinical coordinator for the department for six of those years. She joined The Doctor’s Office in 2016. Sandy resides in the Meridianville area and is married with one daughter. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking, biking, and spending time with family.

Kelly Watson

CRNP

Kelly graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006. She worked as an RN at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham in Labor and Delivery until she earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2009. She practiced chronic pain management and psychiatry in Birmingham for more than 2 years before she and her family relocated to North Alabama in 2012, where she now lives with her husband and 5 young children. She has spent 4 years practicing in adult and pediatric sleep medicine before joining The Doctor’s Office in May of 2016. She is thrilled to now be practicing family medicine with Dr. Taylor and her staff within her own home and church community.

Beth Barnby

CRNP

Beth graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1981 and married her husband Stuart. In 2007 she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The following year she completed her Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2008 and began practicing at Gunn Family Medicine in Meridianville and teaching nursing at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. In 2010 she completed a certificate in nursing education and in 2012 she completed a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Her dissertation was on a rare genetic pediatric disorder. She now practices as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Beth has lived in Meridianville since 2005 where she and her husband have raised three children in a loving church centered community. In 2016 she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner. She is thrilled now to serve her community by joining Dr. Laura Taylor and her staff at the Doctor’s Office.

Lacey Thompson

PA-C

Lacey is a certified physician assistant from Dickson, TN. She began her education at Lipscomb University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and then a Master’s degree in Biomolecular Technology. After serving as an adjunct professor and researcher at Lipscomb University, Lacey went on to Trevecca Nazarene University’s Physician Assistant program to complete her second Master’s degree in the Science of Medicine. She practiced in Tennessee for a few years until moving down to Huntsville for her husband’s engineering vocation. Lacey has been with our practice since January 2020.
